Baby elephants throw themselves into the mud when they get upset

Scream. Bitings. Throwing stuff. Rolling about on the ground. More screams.

Scenario sounds familiar?
Most parents have to deal with temper tantrums with their kids and there is no such thing as perfect techniques when dealing with these tantrums.

El-Bandidoes salute each and every parents!

We believe that each child is unique and different in their own special ways.

Of course some parents have all the patience in the universe to hold back the inner monster within and some parents use "bribery" to distract their kids as a reward for their good behavior in public.

How do you know what causes the hurricane?

There is always an explanation to find the root of all rage.
It could be because they are tired and uncomfortable, maybe they are just trying their luck to get that toy they like and maybe just needs attention.

Kids can be the biggest attention seekers. Kids who have difficulty in speech, have a difficulty in expressing their needs. So we need to know and touch base on what they want. Note their nap time, meal time, body language when they shows signs of being overly tired.

How do you overcome?

If you don't know what causes them to get so agitated, ask them in a low tone, eye level. why, who, what, when?

All they need is that assurance. How would you define that assurance tone? Ask yourself; how would you like to be calmed? That concept applies to kids too. Don't scream or yell. You might not understand them, but that doesn't mean that they don't understand you. You don't like to be screamed at when you are already tired do you?

How do you control before the storm happens?

Again. You need to control yourself before you control anyone especially children. I know this sounds tough but we need to keep our temper checked as well.

Like the saying goes, the apple don't fall far from the tree, you know what annoys you off so this goes same goes for your kids.

Let your parental's instinct tell you, it will definitely tell you that a storm is coming. So just psych yourself- ' prepare yourself - mentally, verbally-all these does not mean you are giving in. Effort in helping them find a solution goes a long way.

In future, when they are use to this concept they will help themselves find their own solution.

So parents, A for effort for making these work!
